Active Reading-short stories

SKU: R1

Students’ weakness lies in feeling too comfortable with extensive reading. For example, when reading a novel, they only pay attention to the plot, while ignoring the author's characterization, suspense design and exquisite descriptive. As a result, most students are challenged to read non-story books for the first time after 7th grade, because such articles lack engaging  storylines.

From Grade 2-5, the most common writing task is to write stories. However, we find that even when teaching children how to write stories, many children write too pale and empty content due to insufficient knowledge reserve. Therefore, it is necessary to know strategies of reading short stories, catching key elements, building up vocabulary, and practicing writing stories.
